Powers of Attorney
Powers of attorney for property, money or business abroad — correctly executed so foreign authorities accept them.
What this covers
A power of attorney is one of the most common documents I notarise, and one of the most likely to be rejected if executed incorrectly. Requirements differ by destination country: some require specific clauses, translations, apostilled supporting identity documents or both principal and attorney to attend. I coordinate the wording with the foreign notary or registry before you sign wherever practical.
Typical documents
- General & ordinary powers of attorney — For property purchases, bank instructions or business management overseas.
- Lasting & enduring powers (signature certification) — Where a foreign authority requires a notarised copy or certified signature.
- Corporate powers of attorney — Board authorisations and powers granted by companies — see Corporate services.
- Revocations & reissue — Notarised revocation of a superseded power, plus fresh execution of the replacement.
- Translation & apostille packages — The power translated by a sworn translator and apostilled in a single instruction.
